Bible History Exhibition

How The Bible Came To Us is a book by Dr. Arulmani which was written to accompany the Bible History Exhibition. The book is written at a lay level which all can be understood by all and the information in the book is presented under selected topics, rather than in a chronological order. While opinions and interpretations about facts and dates may differ from scholar to scholar, the book is written with the intention of helping the readers to understand the value of the Bible and strengthen their faith in the Word of God.

Dr. Arulmani has been a Christian Educator for over 40 years. He worked for the Bible Society of India from 1993-96 during which time he helped to produce the video A Lamp Unto My Feet and the Bible History Exhibition.

The Bible is probably the best known book in the world. It was the first ever book to be printed mechanically. It has been translated and published in 2196 languages according to present statistics. It is the most widely distributed and the best documented book in the world.

In the four thousand years of history it was written in clay, stones, leather and papyrus before it reached its present status. There are hundreds of pieces of evidence found in archaeological discoveries in Egypt, ancient Babylon, Syria and other places.

The Ceylon Bible Society has realised the importance of educating the people of the background of the Bible and equip the young with a deep study of the scriptures.

To accomplish this view a permanent Bible History Exhibition was opened at the basement of the Bible House by Revd. Dr. J. D. Arulmani of Bangalore, India. The Exhibition Centre is dedicated to the memory of Revd. Basil P. Rajasingham, a former General Secretary of the Ceylon Bible Society. The Exhibition is opened to the public on weekdays from 9.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m.

Please contact the curator of the Exhibition - Mr. Marshall Antony for bookings.
