The mission of the
CBS is to 'Do our best to reach the rest'. Many Christians
are in a position to buy a Bible as Bibles in Sinhala and
Tamil are subsidized by the CBS. Yet 'the rest' still find
it difficult to find money to purchase a Bible. The Bible
Society does not give free Bibles as we realize that whoever
values the Bible would make some sacrifice to collect money
to purchase one. In the meantime we have received contributions
from some people who wish to donate Bibles to those in
need. Therefore this new programme is inaugurated to put
this in to effect in a systematic way. All Contributions
will be acknowledged and an official receipt will be issued.
The Donor and Recipient, if it is so desired, could be
made known to each other, thereby forging a link of Christian
sharing.
